This course provides general compliance guidance for adult social care providers regulated by the Care Quality Commission in England. It does not constitute legal advice and should be read alongside your organisation's own policies, the CQC's current inspection frameworks, and any specific guidance issued by your local authority or integrated care board.
What you will learn
- Explain the CQC regulatory framework, the five key questions, and what inspectors look for when assessing a service
- Apply the duty of candour correctly when a notifiable safety incident occurs, including timescales, notifications and support for those affected
- Identify safeguarding concerns in adult social care and follow the Care Act 2014 framework, including Making Safeguarding Personal
- Apply the five principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to support lawful decision-making and best interests assessments
- Recognise when a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards authorisation is required and follow the correct referral process
- Implement safe medication management and standard infection prevention and control precautions in a care setting
